--Jason Isringhausen might throw a bullpen at GABP? Seriously Walt? Do we really need a washed up former Cardinal when available pitchers include Harang, Arroyo, Cueto, Leake, Volquez, Bailey, Wood, Maloney, and Owings. It's doubtful as to whether he can help the bullpen, Jordan Smith, Logan Ondrusek, and Arthur Rhodes have been pretty solid lately and here's what Homer told Enquirer beat writer John Fay Monday:
"Whatever they want me to do," he said. "You've got to learn to make adjustments. I'll do whatever they want me to."
--The combination of Edinson's first start, a Hall of Fame Inductee ceremony, Chris Sabo bobblehead night, and two performances by MC Hammer proved to be a perfect storm as the Reds sold out the ballpark by the Ohio. Attendance was 41,300.
--Unfortunately the Reds 1-0 loss Sunday, their third 1-0 loss in five games dating back to before the break reported John Fay. The cards won and took a half-game lead in the Central.
--The visiting Washington Nationals will send Stephen Strasburg to the hill Wednesday night, I'm trying to go but counting on buying walk-up same day tickets which probably won't be available at the box office. I heard on a local radio station today that since his start was announced, the Reds have sold 1,000 tickets per day and sold 3,000 Monday alone. Get your tickets online here.
