Votto "dissapointed," All-Star selections biased

In reality, the All-Star Game means absolutely nothing. I compare them to high school senior superlatives; Most Likely to Succeed, Best Smile, Cutest Couple. All 100% popularity contests, and who's to say those kids in the yearbook club counting votes aren't just picking their best buds to win each category. Having said that, it's still nice to be rightfully recognized when your pearly whites shine the brightest of anyone's and the same applies for Major Leaguers whose stats speak for themselves.

Reds win 14-3 on Independence Day at Wrigley Field. Unfortunately it wasn't a home game for the Redlegs, otherwise the boys from the Queen City would have provided the fireworks for the holiday! Seven HR's hit, Stubbs hit three (two out of the ballpark... Literally OUT of the park), and one each from Johnny Gomes, Corky Miller, Brandon Phillips, and Paul Janish who filled in for Joey Votto after he got tossed arguing a called-strike three.
