The Indianapolis Indians are the Triple-A farm club for the Pittsburgh Pirates and have a beautiful ballpark to call home. I got a chance to see a game Monday night with the other Reeder family thanks to tickets from Uncle Ryan. The Indians beat the visiting Charlotte Knights (White Sox affiliate) 8-5.
Victory Field in downtown Indianapolis, you walk through the gates and enter in centerfield.
From right field, the scoreboard with brand new JW Marriott hotel in the background. The hotel is slated to open in February 2011 in preparation for the 2012's Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis!
We sat on the first base line in the second deck, but unfortunately no foul balls came close.
The foul pole down each line is 325 feet from home plate. Centerfield is expansive; 418 to left-center, 402 straight away, and 362 to right-center.

It's a beautiful ballpark, and it's part of one of the best sports downtowns anywhere in America. I mean you've got the Colts stadium right there, the new arena for the Pacers is there, and Victory Field all within walking distance. I don't know of any other town in America where you can literally stroll from one to another.--March 2000
